ALMOST one year ago, Jade Hameister wrote her name into the history books by becoming the youngest person in history to ski to the North Pole from anywhere outside the last degree.

But for the 14-year-old, it was merely an entree for the adventure to come.

Next month, the Hampton schoolgirl will set off on her latest expedition: a 540km west-east crossing of the Greenland icecap.

If successful, she will become the youngest woman to ever complete the feat.
