Hearing her friends talk excitedly about their holiday plans hasn’t been easy for Jade Hameister. The 16-year-old Melbourne student will be leaving Australia just as summer kicks off, swapping carefree days in the sun to make history by trekking 605km in the South Pole in -30°C temperatures for the third and final leg of her ‘Polar Quest’.
